My musical relationship with Dave Angel started in the mid '90's, the
time I was singed for Belgium's R & S Records. His remixes were
featured on many of my singles on the label. His craft on remixing my
music always worked perfectly and I often played his remixes more than
my own originals. Of course his own works are important in the history
of techno as well. His new album includes a track he and I
collaborated on for the first time, which gets me to have a great
feeling towards our musical history so far.

デトロイトテクノの名作が誕生した。
U.K.のトッププロデューサーDave Angelのオリジナルアルバムが世界リリースされる。制作の指揮をとったのは日本のレーベルFountain Musicの姉妹レーベルPlaza In Crowdだ。Dave Angelは９０年代には今ではミックジャガーとバンドを組んでいるユーリズミックスのリミックスをし、U.K.チャート２３位を記録。ドラムンベース創世記には、ジャンル創始者のグルーヴライダーとチームを組み、その後も得意のソウル、ジャズテイストのデトロイトテクノで世界で一世風靡し、近年ではK7からのリリースや、ジョージクリントン等とのコラボレーションでも、大きな話題を呼んでいる。

今回の見所の一つは、デビューしたレーベルR&SのレーベルメイトKen Ishiiとのコラボレーションを収録。すでにデリックメイやローランガルニエの耳に届き、デトロイトテクノシーンに大きな反響を呼んでいる。
Ken IshiiとDave AngelはKen氏の初期ヒット曲「Extra」をリミックスした仲であり、１０年以上ぶりとなる共演である。リミックスにもShin Nishimura、Satoshi Fumi、Marco Bailey、Jamie AndersonらとDave Angelに関わって来た多くのトッププロデューサー達が食い込んで来ている。

アルバムの音源はミニマルのブーム、テックハウスを横目で見ながらも常にデトロイトの本質をジャズ、ソウルの探求を掘り下げながら吸収して来たDaveの独創的なエネルギーを宿し、２０年以上テクノを追求してきたベテランプロデューサーの自然な本質的グルーヴの表現が堪能できる。進化しているテクノミュージックの旨味を吸収し成長しているDave Angelの芸術性がいかんばかりに発揮されている。
